The Mr. Pete Project Page
Mr. Pete (Lyle Peterson aka Tubalcain) has been a huge inspiration to many folks both personally and on the Internet. As an industrial arts teacher, he was responsible for teaching countless students the metal arts and shop work related activities. His heart of a teacher never left him and today he continues to teach anyone interested in the subject matter via YouTube.
Over the Years, Mr. Pete has produced hundreds of videos on the subject matter and are all available free to watch on his you tube channel. Among those videos are several projects that Mr. Pete shared with us and plans provided by various people on the internet.
In appreciation of all that Mr. Pete has taught me, I decided to host this page, providing the project files for download and links to the specific videos covering the projects.
Thank you Mr. Peterson for the knowledge you have shared with the rest of us.

Mr. Peterson released a series of three videos showing how to build some toolmaker's clamps. These clamps are useful to have in the shop and can be made to any size you wish. You can download the plans by clicking the icon below. I have also included the videos below for you to watch or you can go to Mr. Pete's YouTube page and watch them as well. In the following video, Mr. Pete shows how to make a Micrometer Carriage Stop for the Atlas Lathe. This will fit either the 12 or 10 inch lathe. Please Note: there are two separate files that can be downloaded for this project. The PDF file contains the drawings for the Micrometer Carriage Stop and the ZIP file contains the 3D printable STL files for a dial to be used with the Micrmeter Carriage Stop rather than making the dial from scratch.

In the following videos, Mr. Pete shows how to make some small machinist jacks from home made castings. Not everyone has the ability to make castings in their home shop, but if you do this will prove to be quite the useful project.

What is My Heap?
My Heap is my personal collection of notes and resources on a varying degree of topics. The information located on these pages are just that, information. There is no degree of accuracy implied by the content and I do not take any responsibility for any use or misuse of the information contained herein.
With that out of the way let's get down to it. The purpose of this site is to pass along some information that I have gleaned from other people, books and off the web and use it more as a central repository. The site is broken down with a general topic menu at the top of the screen. When you select one of these topics you will be given menus on the left hand side of the screen in which to navigate the site. I will do my best to keep relevant information contained to its general topic area, but be warned that collecting my thoughts can be a lot like herding cats!
I want to reiterate that this site is intended to be a repository of information. Not just my information but information collected and submitted by fellow DIYers. If you are one of these kind of people and want to participate, email me. If your stuff fits in with the general theme of the site and you want me to include it, I will post it here. You will receive full credit for your work and additions to the site.
