What is My Heap?

Hello everyone. Here at the Heap we have decided that we are going to try something a little different. We are going to start adding some multimedia content. Over the years we have added projects to the page as they came about. Some complete some just snippets. Well, a couple of friends and I decided it would be fun to add some small projects with some video to go along with it. A couple of projects that we plan to do this way are how to make bio-diesel and how to make a sawdust heater.

The video at the left is a first attempt to embed video into the website and it is nothing more than a welcome. I do plan on replacing it with a better scripted version. ;-) We have decided for the time being to use Flash Video in order to server a larger variety of audience. Meaning the Linux, Mac and Windows community regardless of what browser they choose to use. There are ways you can help. I have tested with Ubuntu Linux with Firefox, Windows XP with Firefox and IE. If you have a different setup and it does not work please let us know. I don't know that I can fix it, but will at least attempt to do so.

My Heap is my personal collection of notes and resources on a varying degree of topics. The information located on these pages are just that, information. There is no degree of accuracy implied by the content and I do not take any responsibility for any use or misuse of the information contained herein.

With that out of the way let's get down to it. The purpose of this site is to pass along some information that I have gleaned from other people, books and off the web and use it more as a central repository. The site is broken down by subject and topic on the left. To navigate simply click the links on the menu.

I envision this to hold more than just my information someday. If you would like to add information and/or correct information provided here, please email me at xavier at gtec.com and I will consider it. If I place your information here you will receive credit for it.

Navigation around the site is pretty straight forward. On the left side of your screen you will see the menu system. It is broke down into two broad sections. These are the main My Heap sections and the My Heap online book. The Main My Heap menu will detail items that may or may not end up in the online book. Here you will find projects that I am working on as well as some of my notes. The stuff in this area does not or may not fit into the book because of lack of relavence or incompletion. Finally, below you have the My Heap online book. Here is what I hope to be the meat of the site someday. Here are my experiences and other with the process of making molds, casting and those areas that help facilitate those processes. Now the real success of this area is a group effort by myself and those that have been kind enough to let me mirror some of their information. You will see on any given area who the person is that donated the information. If a web site is listed for them, I encourage you to go visit. They have a wealth of other information that is not presented in the book, and in all fairness to them and you, they may have updates to the information I am passing on to you.

NOTICE: I have removed the forum for lack of use. Instead I have replaced it with a guestbook. If you have a minute, I would like to hear from you. Perhaps you can tell me what I can do to make this site better? Or just say hello!

You are visitor number Thank you for your support. :-)

I would like to hear from you ... Take a moment and send an EMAIL. :-)
